For what reasons does Vidiamo process your personal data?

Vidiamo collects and processes your personal data for the execution of purchase contract(s) concluded with you, administration, services, communication and marketing (personalized or not) and fraud investigations, for quality and management reasons as well as to meet legal obligations.

On what legal basis does Vidiamo process your personal data?

The processing of personal data is lawful only when based on one of the legal grounds listed in the exhaustive list. Vidiamo relies on three of these legal grounds. We process your data because of a contract, because Vidiamo has a legitimate interest in your data, or because you have given us your consent.

Contract performance. We use your personal data to carry out the preliminary steps necessary to enter into a contract and to perform any contract entered into with you.

Legitimate interest. We also use your personal data for Vidiamo's legitimate interests. You will find more information regarding Vidiamo's legitimate interests in the following sections.

Consent. Your consent allows us to use your personal data for marketing purposes and/or to assist us with our market research. You can withdraw your consent at any time. To learn how, please refer to the section "Can you withdraw your consent later?".

What are Vidiamo's legitimate interests that make the processing of your data lawful?

Vidiamo needs to process your personal data to create and maintain a lasting relationship with its customers, to monitor and improve its products, services, and processes, and to protect the company's interests. For example, to inform our customers about new products, services, and activities, to request customer feedback on our products, to prevent security issues and misuse of our applications, or to protect Vidiamo's interests in (potential) legal proceedings.

Where possible, we will use and implement the so-called "opt-out system" in our communications. This way, you can easily inform us when you no longer wish to receive communications from Vidiamo. You can, of course, always contact us directly by email at info@vidiamo.com.

To whom does Vidiamo transmit your personal data?

Vidiamo may share your personal data with third parties in accordance with this Privacy Statement to the extent permitted by law. Vidiamo will not share your data with third parties for personal marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

Your personal data may be transmitted to the following categories of recipients:

The authorities. For example, regulatory authorities, tax and customs administrations, the police, and other legal bodies. We may share your personal data to:

  • To comply with a legal obligation or court order; or
  • If this is necessary to prevent, trace, or prosecute criminal acts; or
  • If this is necessary to strengthen our policies or protect the rights and freedoms of others.

Business service providers. We use third parties to provide our services. For example, a shipping company contracted by Vidiamo to deliver the product you purchased, or an online payment provider contracted by Vidiamo to process online payments. In addition, we engage third parties such as analytics companies, advertising agencies, and social networks to analyze data related to your website usage, to personalize the website and communications, and to display relevant offers and advertisements.

Others. Each third party to whom we transmit your personal data with your consent (for example, in a collaborative context), and/or of which Vidiamo is now or will be a part in the future in the event of restructuring, merger or acquisition.

Insofar as these third parties process your data, they do so as data processors for Vidiamo. Vidiamo has taken the necessary measures to ensure that your data is used exclusively for the aforementioned purposes.

How do we protect your data?

We have implemented both technical and organizational measures to protect your data against loss, theft, and unauthorized access. We continuously improve our security measures in light of technological advancements and developments. We also recommend that you properly secure your own passwords and electronic data storage devices.

Is your personal data transferred outside the EU?

When necessary, your personal data is transferred and/or processed outside the European Union. Vidiamo has taken all necessary measures to ensure that transfers are carried out only within the limits permitted by law.

All European countries are governed by the same set of legal provisions. This set is designed to ensure a consistent level of protection for the processing of personal data within the European Union.

Vidiamo is authorized to transfer (legally) your personal data to countries that rely on what is known as a "compliance decision." A compliance decision is a decision made by the European Commission that requires the country in question to guarantee an adequate level of protection for personal data.

The (legal) transfer of personal data to other countries will only be carried out once the appropriate security measures provided by Vidiamo have been installed.

How long does Vidiamo store your personal data?

Your personal data will be removed and/or anonymized when it is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was processed. Furthermore, we can assure you that Vidiamo will not store your personal data longer than permitted by law.

How can you manage your personal data?

You have the right to know whether or not your personal data is being processed by Vidiamo and, if so, to request access to an overview of your personal data, its correction, and/or its deletion. Furthermore, you can also restrict the processing of your personal data, object to its processing, and you have the right to data portability. Below, you can read where and how to exercise all of these rights.

If you have your own Vidiamo account, you have access to some of the personal data we store about you. You can correct or delete this data at any time.

If you wish to have an overview of all processing activities and/or correct or delete (where possible) your personal data and are unable to do so yourself, you can contact us by email at info@vidiamo.com.

If you do not have an account and wish to claim your rights to access, correct and/or delete your personal data, you can contact us by email at info@vidiamo.com.

To exercise your rights to limit processing and/or to object to processing, as well as your rights to data portability, please contact us by email at info@vidiamo.com.

Please remember that Vidiamo may ask you for additional information to verify your identity.

Can you withdraw your consent?

If you have given your consent for a specific processing activity involving your personal data, you can withdraw it at any time. Please note that withdrawal is not retroactive and is only possible if you have given your prior consent.

You can contact us to report the withdrawal of your consent by email at info@vidiamo.com.

Can you file a complaint?

You can file a complaint with the French Data Protection Authority regarding Vidiamo's use of your personal data. For example, if you believe Vidiamo is not using your personal data carefully, or if you have requested access to or correction of your personal data but are not satisfied with our response.

Are you required to provide us with your personal data and what are the consequences if you do not?

When we need your personal data, it will be marked with an asterisk (*). If you choose not to provide the required personal data, we will not be able to enter into an agreement or provide the service in question.
